Usually associated with nature, fairies are supernatural beings connected to the natural cycles of life. In literature, fairies first appeared as protagonists in England in the 1590s, in Edmund Spencer's epic poem The Faerie Queene. Since then, the figure of the fairy has evolved and been used in children's stories and myths. In 1904, the play "Peter and Wendy" introduced us to Tinker Bell, perhaps the most famous fairy in pop culture. Another well-known fairy is the Tooth Fairy, who visits a child after a tooth has fallen out, symbolizing growth and promoting self-confidence, helping children to feel proud of themselves.
Our plaster piece depicts an adorable little fairy that makes an excellent gift and amulet for children who need a little magic and confidence in their lives.
